![]() ![]() AI cheats a lot even in Normal difficulty I've never seen AI cheat in an AOE series or StarCraft, WarCraft series. However, Harvester, the only hope, is a slow and expensive stupid unit. It's very hard to build a multi-base like StarCraft. Give me time to think about strategy, In this remastered version, resources have become very slow to regenerate. The speed at which resources are depleted on the map is too fast. I would have played hard as a member of Nod's brother if they provided the story, at least in text. provides no knowledge of the background of the game. ![]() Game missions are too easy or hard did you enjoy mission of Nod 8? I gave it up, these challenges give someone fun but not me. Units move around and die easily each time. ![]() Remastered game, but no Rally point? Really? Overall, Although it is a remaster version, the game is too old to enjoy in 2021. Overall, I got this remaster on a steam sale for $5 and at that price you literally can't go wrong at all. Story wise, both games in single player offer a significantly challenging experience that definitely gets much harder in later missions, which some missions being absolutely disgustingly difficult and notorious to pass, most of the time requiring absolute perfection to pass, whilst other missions requiring just strength of numbers to win, this mission balance has been an issue since the 90s so not going complain about that, AI though is still an issue that hasn't been improved and most notable in skirmish where the AI will often choke up its own base with units. But you could select 12 units :D.After playing all the C&C series through the years, I was honestly glad that this got a remaster as it was often a source for a quick skirmish or lan party with friends back in the day and this doesn't disappoint with crisp fresh graphics and an updated soundtrack that was already iconic.Īnother thing is that this has not only been revamped, its been slightly re-balanced as well with the allies not being so far behind the USSR anymore but still suffers from several key well known multiplayer imbalances such as USSR migs being especially overpowered and Allied cruisers being their overpowered choice. They didn't nail the controls like westood i think. It was a different, full screen warcraft experience :D. It also had different interface without the side menu. The point is - it was introduction to the series for many of us who wouldn't be able to experience it otherwise.and it was great. I think playing it on a gameped is the way to go. Mouse support was there, I had a playstation mouse, but then you couldnt use shortcuts on joypad. I prefer the sprite size of 320*200 version and I hope they're gonna use that as a base for remasters. It was more detailed in theory, but you caouldn't see it because it was tiny. Also, I didn't like how everything became too tiny on pc after 95. When you play it on an emulator, you see how "shitty" it looked, but there were many tricks to go cheaper because you had a low res crt. It was smoother, less pixelated looking and today I apreciate it even more. It had certain charm of a "game on crt with scanlines" that pc version lacked. It was 320x200 (like DOS version of both C&C and Red Alert), but comparison is pointless because there was no need to have higher resolution on CRT with scanlines on PS1. I might be wrong on that, but the low resolution and lack of mouse alone make these versions unrecommendable in the year 2019.Īlso, I have to ask: did these versions have easier difficulty? It would feel appropriate considering the compromises.īeing made for CRT tv made it a different beast, of course. I am also pretty sure the player didn't have access to the repertoire of commands they could give to their units, such as guard and attack move. You had to play with the dualshock instead of a mouse. The resolution is super small, so you only see very little of the map at any given time. That said, these versions of the games were definitely inferior to their original PC releases. That there were kickass FMV videos to tell the story was the cherry on top. I had never played an RTS before, and was amazed by how great the gameplay was. I didn't have a PC back then, and wouldn't have one until the year 2000. I played the fuck out of them because they were, and still are, fantastic games. Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn and Command & Conquer Red Alert were both on the original Playstation.
